Why Explore Early?

Crimson Desert rewards exploration heavily. Many of the best early-game items are found in hidden locations that don’t require combat to reach. Some areas are actually easier to visit early because enemies only spawn once you activate the related questline.

Fast Travel System

Unlocking fast travel points should be your first priority when entering any new region.

How Fast Travel Works

  • Fast travel points are tied to Abyss Nexus locations
  • They appear where Mysterious Energies are found
  • Each region has multiple travel points
  • Some quest objectives require frequent back-and-forth travel

Always activate Abyss Nexus points when you see them. Even if you don’t need them now, you will later.

Clearing Fog of War

Each region has a fog of war that hides unexplored areas. To clear it:

  1. Walk through areas — proximity reveals the map
  2. Use high vantage points — some towers reveal large sections
  3. Complete quests — many quest paths reveal map areas naturally
  4. Find all Bells — ringing bells clears fog in a radius

Aim to clear at least 60% of each region’s map. The remaining 40% usually contains end-game content.
